Las' night I stan'up posing in "ONE FETE"...ketching mih kicks (PLEEEEEEENTY kicks to ketch eh !). Anyways a WOMAN come-up and ask to get a picture with moi...I take eeen the fact that homegirl wearing a tights that SEE THRU WITH NOOOOO DRAWERS and she smelling like a bar on Broadway (alcohol AND piss). I hesitated...she beg...I said "OK"...her MAN take the pic...walking away she say's "thanks AUNTIE Rachel"...I say "AUNTIE ???" ! She says "YES ! Yuh aint mek me out ? I in class with YOUR DAUGHTER !"..."WHERE SHE ?"...to which I replied..."Home"....bless

WE like it SOOOOO !!!
Lord save me from "experts"....people who ALWAYS KNOW..
I myself never knew Trinidad had Carnival experts...I believed we had folks who were experts in their relative fields...calypsonian,soca artiste,mas men and masqueraders.
First up on the list are the folks that figured the "piss trucks" were not necessary,now when you come up with a problem then come up with a blasted SOLUTION ! No alternatives were presented...none (that made sense anyway).
Second is the idea that concerts or Carnival related events are not going to be allowed in the National Stadium. Sooooo then ? WHERE ? The Queen's Park Oval aint that user friendly...the infrastructure to encourage partying (the ONLY way we know how) just NOT there...Plus the QPC authorities just renovate the cricket pitch....and understandably concerned.
But Carnival is CARNIVAL ! And we the people loooooove our culture ! Right ! RIGHT ? Right, we like it so else we would let the powers that be feel our wrath...IF we were upset or vex or even the slightest bit perturbed.
Lemme aint start on the prices for events leading up to the 2 mighty days...AND the prices for costumed participation on the DAYS themselves ! Those topics I leaving for a while...till then..bless.
